Little tiger

A little tiger in my sketchbook. I used some lovely printed card from flow magazine for his shirt.

Grunt, the monster who wouldn’t eat his vegetables

I had a bit of nostalgic fun sketching the characters from one of my favourite books growing up “Grunt, the monster who wouldn’t eat his vegetables” I adore the illustrations of Michael Salmon and Grunt is so sneaky feeding his vegetables to the cat and dog hahaha!

May 2018

Merrymay

The month that was – There were countless sunny autumn days that were enjoyed, all the plants in the garden were happy to be soaking up the warmth as well ( just look at those delicious oranges ! ). I completed my 100 day painting challenge, there were lots of animals in top hats . Giant ant ornaments and bobbly birds made a new home in the garden. In true Agatha Christie style, Crooked house kept me guessing right till the end with who the killer was & cozy warm winter socks were found at Daiso.

Micador aqua painters

I always try a new paint pen when I see one. Actually any pen really… I mean I’m completely addicted to buying pens, I went away for a few days an ended up buying 11 new pens haha ! Who does that ?! Any way this was created with Micador aqua painters ( spring collection) . They’re really good paint pens !!
I can’t wait to try all the colours.

Little houses & animals – Sketch

Lately I’ve really enjoyed drawing animals and cute little houses.
I feel that you can really let your imagination run wild when you are drawing little houses. There are no rules, you can have as many windows and decorations as you like .
I also enjoy drawing animals, so I can dress them up in funky clothes 🙂

Park Days – Sketch

I bought this lovely new sketchbook from miniso and started it by sketching this fun little
scene. I’m not used to drawing entire scenes, usually just focus on one particular object
or animal. Though I think I’m going to do more sketches like this. It’s a great way to brainstorm new ideas and just draw whatever comes to mind.

Hand painted notebooks

I recently bought some liquitex acrylic paint.
I’ve since discovered that it is perfect to use for decorating notebooks.
On the first notebook I painted a bunny. I’m going to give this to one of my pen pals for Easter.
On the second I painted a floral design.
I plan on filling this notebook with lots of patterns & illustration ideas.

New Zine – The happy sketchbook

Ahoy there ! This is the latest listing for my etsy shop.

It is a zine filled with eight delightful artworks
and complementing pages from my happy little moleskine sketchbook.
I painted and chopped up bits of patterned paper to
create this sketchbook.
I hope that when you are looking at these pages you will feel
just as happy as I did when I created them.

The corners are rounded so it gives the zine a moleskine feel.

Hand painted envelopes

Since January 2015 I have been sending letters to pen pals all over the world !
It is the best hobby as it allows you to be creative with paper and also make friends
with people by writing letters to them. I love coming up with new ideas of what to send
my friends in the mail.
I thought it might look nice if I painted some envelopes with gouache .
Here are the results 🙂

Glorious Gouache

I love gouache but I find it so time consuming to mix up my colours each time I paint.
Also sometimes the lids get stuck and they are so hard to remove.

g2

What I discovered from watching tutorials about gouache, is that
it is ok if the paint dries because it can be reconstituted with water.
So I decided to mix up my colours into these little pots and now i just
add water to them when I need them . It is working out brilliantly
so far, I love it !
These are my cool colours
